We were in between excursions on our cruise port day #2 in Costa Maya, Mexico; so we decided we wouldn't wander that far off the ship. Lucky us, the port was an excellent spot to explore and just be. First stop on our itinerary - tacos! I regret I have no pictures of the excellent pork pibil tacos that the hubs and I devoured, food rarely lasts long enough for photos (I'd make a horrible food photographer). ;) I did, however, get some shots of my favorite birds tho, the flamingoes, jeez they were beautiful! And funny enough, oversized iguanas strolled the sandy beaches of the port keeping us entertained while we lounged and sipped on some local spirits. Overall, we had a ton of fun here and some much-needed rest & relaxation on land.
My first cruise ever, took place this past March - it was a 7 day, Royal Caribbean, Vision of the Seas, through the Gulf and the Caribbean, which included stops in Roatan (Honduras), Costa Maya, & Cozumel. While I loved the destinations, maybe it was the length of the cruise, the ship itself. or the idea of a floating hotel just isn't enough to draw me in to justify the few hours of beach time.
I decided to share chronologically and since our first port was Roatan Honduras I thought I'd start there. Here are just a few from our beach excursion and some from the ship itself. Bon, voyage!!
