Quaintrelle - one of my all-time favorite words in the English any lexicon!

Quaintrelle: (n) a woman who emphasizes a life of passion, expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and a cultivation of life’s pleasures.

Who exactly is this quaintrelle woman, and why should she be important to you?
I love this word! I love the words that define this word! I love the heart of the meaning of this word!  This word just makes me happy!! I don't know about you, but I am constantly striving for quality over quantity in every aspect of my life.  That being said, I find myself often falling short, or out of sorts and off balance. So I feel as if my life in is this perpetual search for balance and focus.

This is what I call the quaintrelle quandary.

The quaintrelle quandary is when the life we dream of and envision living (you know, the one on your Pinterest board that you're hoping will manifest itself via cyber osmosis) doesn't truly line up with our reality.

Let's face it we are pulled by way too many distractions today. We live in a world overly stimulated & filled with so much information that our heads spin. From media outlets like Netflix, Prime, and Hulu to the plethora of social media sites, we are continually swiping, scrolling, browsing, tweeting, Insta-ing, periscope-ing, Facebooking, emailing and just about a bazillion other ing's!! There are not enough hours in a lifetime to get through all this information. But, if we are not careful we'll spend our one and only guaranteed lifetime with our heads in the digital cloud instead of in what really matters - our life's passions and dreams, and in the present moment that is now.

I know you've heard it before, but I think it bears repeating again - you must stop and smell the roses!!

For me, stopping to smell the roses isn't just a metaphor for living life! I stop at most roses, lean in, and inhale one of my most beloved scents!! Here is the secret I have learned from literally stopping to smell the roses - the moment I engage several of my senses at once, I begin to slip into my present life, and I find myself experiencing these moments more fully. These beautiful moments then tend to linger and forge meaningful memories.

So, I have decided to write about it, this quaintrelle life I long to live authentically and more consistently. I want to simplify the quaintrelle idea and find doable, actionable steps to allow for more meaningful moments to seep into my everyday existence.  Along the way, I will share some of my favorite bloggers, books, inspirations and concepts I come across on my quest for a quality quaintrelle way of life. In the end, I hope that you too will be inspired to engage more fully in your present life, and in all areas you are passionate about!
